Intro: External gas exchange takes place between air and lungs. Oxygen goes into blood from air through the alveoli and carbon dioxide goes into alveoli into air from blood, because of cellular respiration.
Part A: The results of the aerating of limewater remained the same there were no changes. However, the test tube we breathed in became cloudy.

Part B: The beaker that was aerated turned blue/green and beaker with the other distilled water that was breathed into turned orange/yellow. Therefore, aerated was neutral and the breathed into one was strong acid.

Part C: Breaths taken in one minute were : 28,25 and 18. Breaths taken in 30 seconds were: 10, 14 and 18. The numbers in 30 seconds are basically half the amount of one minute except are kind of higher, for example 18 breaths per 30 seconds. This means we should be taking in more breaths.
Questions:
Part A:
1). The change of color in the limewater indicates that the co2 we breathe out reacted with the lime water to create a solid precipitate.
2). The purpose of the control test tube is to see the differences between both the tubes and what causes the changes to the lime water, it shows which variable causes changes and in this case it was our breathing out into the lime water.
Part B:
3). The change in color of the universal indicator means that the air we breathe out is acidic and the aerated beaker is neutral.
4). The purpose of the control beaker is to again see the what two combinations show results and to compare.
5). In the test beaker of water, both of the beakers remained the same. However, when the universal indicator was added, the beaker that was aerated turned neutral a blue-ish green color and the beaker that was breathed into turned acidic, into a orangey- yellow color.
7). Our blood does not become acidic because our blood contains HHB, Hydrgoen with hemoglobin molecules which do not become acidic.
Part C:
8). The breathing rate at 30 seconds increased compared to the rate in 60 seconds. I think since they only had 30 seconds to breath, it caused them to hyperventilate.. and breathe faster in the 30 seconds.
